Hey guys this is Master Jake and today I’m going to be showing you Echo Delay Color.
It’s finally being released. I got around to making this yesterday. Basically, if you haven’t seen Echo Delay, go watch that video and you’ll understand a little more about Echo Delay but I’ll give you the basics here.
Echo Delay just right towel-type writer text under the screen, it type it out as it goes along and is similar to a typewriter. But Echo Delay Color, what‘s so special about it is that it has color codes now and I really want to show you what I mean. Just when you download the command, if you want to see the help text, navigate to the directory it’s in and type ‘edc’ and here you go.
Now, you create simulated colored typing text with a millisecond delay. Now you see here the possible switches; [delay] [-n] [-w] [text]. Now, these do have to be I this order. I mean you can leave out wither the [-w] or the [-n] or both them if you want. But if you put them both in there, they do have to be in that order. So just keep in mind, this is a template of how you need to do it.
Now, “-n” (adds a line break to the end of the line) and I’ll explain more about that in a second. “-w” (forces a key wait at the end of the text) now that’s actually, this is very important; I had to add this in because I’ll show you why in a minute. “Delay” is of course the delay that’s between each character then the “text” is a string of characters. You definitely put quotes around that.
Now, about the color codes, if type a “/*#” one of these, you don’t need the number sign but you do need one of these colored codes. Then any text after that will be colored with the specific color. To end it, you type a “/$” and that returns to the normal standard light grey on white text and I will show you that in a minute.
Here’s an example, “edc 100 –n” see it left out the –w perimeter. So every 100 milliseconds type of character, “The Following Text Is /*GGreen.” And if you can see in the menu here, light green is a large G so that’s going to be light green text. And then at the end “/$” to return it back to light grey and white which is this color and then in that period it terminates it. All right, not terminate it but ends the sentence and it’ll be in a light grey as normal then you end the quote.
So let’s actually see this in action. Open up these bats file I made. Look at the typing out colored t ext right there. I have it typed it out three times and you see there’s a key wait right there. And after I press that key, whatever is supposed to happen after that happens.
So this one uses the key wait, I’ll show you that. See, all those lines as used as –n perimeter. This one uses –n and –w. now, if you remove the –n from there and go ahead and replay it then you can see that it doesn’t go down a lot and it doesn’t put text or whatever the net command is on the same line.
Now if you notice that, I just skipped all that. That was actually request from Tam because he’s a little pagan boy. That was a request from him that I say that on air. So don’t get all defensive. But anyway, he wanted a way to skip this crap. If you don’t want to set and read it, just press the key and it’ll process itself as to pretty much skip it almost instantly. So just press the key.
Now, it is very important that if you’re going to be receiving input right after you’re typing this out that you do put the –w on the very last one. And why is that important? Well, I’ll show you. One more time, play it. I’m going to press the key. Okay now it’s empty and I can type stuff in. but if I take that –w out right there, I’m going to put the dash in back in so it’ll go down a line. If I take that out, now when I press the key, it went ahead and fed it through to the input.
The problem with that is that if you press Enter as the key, it will completely skip the input. But if you have the –w on here, when you ruin it, if you press Enter, it doesn’t skip it. So that’s very important.
So this is Echo Delay Color. This command will be available on my website in MaterJakeOnline.com, link in the video description. Got to the downloads page and download it. And this color text will be in Dark Kingdoms 2 so it’s going to be a pretty cool game when I get around to my camp.
Thanks for watching the video. See you in the next one.
