Alright, my favorite program has just had an update Gnome Do and with Docky so there as you are trying to catch up with AWN and Cairo Dock and all that because I have Docklets now. It looks I guess prettier I would say and it do has some things that give it a nice touch like for instance if you minimize something it will be like kind of graded out so you know the difference which was activated or not.
You see it has a pretty color here and if you minimize it, it’s darker. You can see it better and they do have some stuff in here, let me see. You go to Preference, now in here they have almost accessories but the keyboards have more shortcuts right now. It depends on the plug-ins you’re using now and then you can use these hot keys so it’s good.
And for the plugins in here still the same stuff but now they have the inclusion of Docklets which is cool kind of like AWN where they have the little Applets and whatever same thing, same deal. You have the weather which I’ve been waiting for that and they have some other ones but not really that especially right now. And in the Appearance, they 0changed a few things, they used to be here, but they don’t show in the list and they put the features in here, so you know if you want the Docky here you have to use a Docky here right and they have some show results and some of that, but that’s not really important.
Now they have the option of getting on top or bottom although you know in your Docky which is also cool and hiding here this is pretty cool. They have autohide and there’s new one they called it intelligent high. Intelligent high is pretty cool, so let’s say this right. You see how you have this and you still have the Docky, but let’s say you Full Screen it then I’ll hide it. See, you autohide it, so that’s the Intelligent high. It only appears when the Windows is not like maximized.
So, let’s say this window is not maximized the Dock is still here right, but you go after this one. This is maximized and it disappears so that’s the intelligent one so I really dig that one. And you’ll see, I’ll go back to that. Oh, that’s pretty much it and you can do it on the icon size if you like from here, and I will increase the size or you can do the zoom if you want to do the fish eye zoom. The fish, eye zoom is right there. That’s really not that that important.
There’s another way to do this icon size. You don’t have to actually use it here, but I don’t think a lot of people know about this one. You can actually drag this thing here. This is separator right here. Drag it up and that’s how you would increase it, and drag it down and decrease it. So that’s like on a file one. You can drag it from the side too like right here on the side, and I want to suspend that out. That’s another way it’s not really that obvious, but there’s a lot of secrets in this.
So that’s pretty much it and the main thing is about the intelligent high, the Docklets, that’s about it but this is some of the plug-ins that have been improved also. So it’s so cool and if you want to get it you have to add in the PPA. I’ll post on this side somewhere and after you do that you want to install the Gnome Do of course, the plug-ins and the Docklets if you want all those stuff, so that’s pretty much it.
