Hi, I am Ashley welcome to my art studio. Today we are going to be talking about Gouache. So, gouache is an peak watercolor, and the one difference between watercolor and gouache is with gouache you can work from dark to light, whereas watercolor you really by work from you cannot go back with water color.
You cannot put light on top of dark and the good thing about gouache is that you can work from dark to light, because there are whites available and that it is on o peak color. So, you can put a white over black and make highlights and what the opposite way that you would with water colors.
So, what I would recommend to you is actually buying a whole set of gouache with a few different colors. Whole buying actually makes a really great set. It is what I use I think it is a really nice simple set of gouache.
The tubes are very small because a little bit of gouache grows a very long way. It is very much like water color again. So, you do not need a lot of it and you also want to make sure that you have got how little canister of water, and your water color of paper. Hot press is that need the best paper to use for either watercolor or gouache. So, enjoy gouaching.
