Jason: Hello everybody it’s Jason here from McIntosh community and welcome to another one of our Podcast that we are doing. I have today Sam and Condolo, who are in our last podcast. We are talking about the new opera web browser and actually in this Podcast what are we going to be talking is I am client. It is a different instant messaging client out there and Twitter for those of you who don’t know what Twitter is.
Twittering is basically – how can I explain? What you do is you go to Twitter. It use a Twitter client which will get into that too and basically you Twit and tell everybody what you are doing. And yo have followers that will follow you and then the point of it is you to follow other people too. And you just kind to follow everybody around you – your friends and stuff, so you will always know what is going on.
Hey I am doing this, hey I am doing that – this is what my friends are doing, my friends doing this and my friends that. So now Twitter is a really good thing to use, I love it – I use it a lot in fact. I almost use it as much as I am using the I am client, messaging people back and forth.
So right now I am going to let Condolo talk about the different types of I am clients and the one he uses and Sam as well talk more about Twitter and after that so Condolo if you want to take it away.
Condolo: Thank you Jason, well anyway the Window platform I like to prefer drilling, its multi platform. I know I can MSN, Yahoo and IM, I not sure about anything else that uses on Linux platform I am a big fan of Pidgin which can – using from My Space to IM to AIM and all the basic stuff such MSN, Yahoo and all that.
As from which one is better I want to say one is better than the other but as for customizable – I say Trillion is easier to customize and Pidgin is. But anyway I don’t know how much about Twitter so I will just passed in on to the chalice now.
Sam: Okay thanks Condole; on the other side of things I don’t know a lot of the IM. Clients are on the instant message a lot but other ones might be used I prefer Pidgin because that is basically the only IM client that I have used besides the Windows Live Messenger client. That comes to Windows, as for Twitter and Twitter Clients I Twit a lot. And I have always preferred Twirl over other clients like Snitter and things like that.
And another good thing about it – it’s free; I would like tend it back to Jason.
Jason: Thanks guys for your reviews and opinions on that talking about your experience with it. I am a big Twitter fan myself and actually I use Twhirl I believe that is how it spelled. There is other clients now, Twhirl is based off Adobe Air and Snitter’s another one too. Which is based off until the Adobe Air, I know that in Firefox they have something called Twitter Fox. Which is a little add-on in FireFox where you can it is in your Twitters.
Now not just that, Twitter is starting to become an API all over the place. Such as Facebook, My Space and Ustream.tv where you enter your credentials for your Twitter account and you can twitter with that in going to your Facebook and Twitter on there. You can use your Podcast console on Ustream.tv to send Twitters out and I am broadcasting here – this is what I am doing, very easy.
And you can even use it with your cellphone, really easy. Where you can actually send Twitters and plus receive your friends Twitters in general. Send it back and forth; Twitter is an excellent thing to use. To know what is going on, I know there have been certain events – important events that have happen and people have twittered about it. Before it even made in on TV and what not and you know circulating all around the Twitter world.
You can follow us on Twitter at Twitter.com forward-McIntosh. There goes my phone right now, in fact Twitter, so Twitter is an excellent resource to learn. I am always on it and I got Twitter always talking on it – see what is going on. Saying this is what we are doing – especially doing Podcast, they will broadcast about it.
Our Podcast is that such of time and what not, with IM clients, Pidgin, Trillion and Miranda which are all good clients I specifically more like Trillian but the cool features about all three. Is you can be logged in to your ICQ, Yahoo, MSN, IRC, AOL all that on all three clients allows that.
For MSN messenger, I usually call AMSN which is designed for lengths but it is multi platform for Windows, MAC and PC. And Linux itself which is pretty cool, so that is our review on Twitter and IM clients, thanks Sam and thanks Condolo for being on the show once again. It’s great having people be part of our Podcast.
