Dave: Hi, I’m Dave Epstein, this is Growing Wisdom. We’re here with Anthony Stevenson at Johnny’s Selected Seeds. Anthony it looks like you have a great line of cutlery that you can use in field and for food processing. Tell me about this.
Anthony: We have few different groups Dave. This is the harvest machetes that are really good for reaching long, you don’t have to bend over. They’re really great for harvesting in the field.
Dave: The 12-inch harvest machete is great for cutting crops like—the 10-inch work great as well.
Anthony: Dave, our harvest machetes can also be used to trim things in the field like this broccoli stalk. These are field and—knives. The broccoli floret knife removes the step by allowing you to make florets directly in the field. These are serrated green harvesters you can use this to cut parsley. Right now I’m going to use to cut carrots, if you hold the carrot like it was in the ground just come along. These are our shears that—style. They’re really great for cutting root vegetables. These are great and tomato cluster tools. Dave, when you want to plant your potatoes you can use this potato seed knife, you cut if off and you can plant that.
Dave: So, just plant the eye and you get new potatoes.
Anthony: Yes, that’s right. And we also offer sheaths for some of this in leader and nylon.
Dave: So some great tools, snip away, get any of these in the Johnny’s catalogue.
Anthony, thanks for your time. Good stuff to help you in the garden. Come back every week for all of our tips, hints and helps here at Growing Wisdom.
