Speaker: One of the most important skills that you can learn is positive thinking. What are some examples of positive thoughts that you have in sport?
Speaker1: I can do it knowing it's possible and being able to do it I follow what your mind says.
Speaker2: Oh! Nice pitch and all this keep it going and like it was pitched next, crack out the last barrels.
Speaker3: Hi! I'm strong and just stay confident and just play your game.
Speaker4: I can score goals, I can basically I have the confidence to do whatever I need to do to finish the game and score, assist, pass the people, make the right choices, turn the game.
Speaker5: Some of the positive thoughts that I have when I'm doing great is that I just try myself in doing a good job.
Speaker6: If I have to visualize that I ask before I do it and think of how best to do it and think of good scores and think of past meets who have done it well and then I just do it.
Speaker: Great! Positive thoughts are thoughts that make you feel comfortable. They make you feel confident. They make you feel in-charge. Negative thoughts in contrast are thoughts that make you feel uncomfortable, not very confident and not in-charge or control.
What are some common negative thoughts that you have in sport?
Speaker6: Negative thoughts are like, oh! They scored a goal, it's all over, they're up by one goal. There is only five minute left; we are going to lose no matter what.
Speaker7: Well, I don't like doing badly in whatever I do and I don't like being mean or anything and for like skill just thinking like I'm awful or anything like that.
Speaker8: Sometimes I say, maybe I shouldn't have shot that or shoot, maybe I should have passed at that time.
Speaker9: I shouldn't hit that shot because I might miss it and some only if I miss a shot like how did I miss it.
Speaker10: Usually I think I know what my score is going to be or this could affect to whole of me, am I going to go to Nationals or then I just try to forget about it.
Speaker11: Like, if someone just hit a homerun you're like, oh! I could pitch that, you should throw it like a fast ball instead of like an off-speed pitch and then like or if you didn't catch a ball and you messed up the play and you send a guy home and you're like oh! Damn it, why didn't I do that?
