How to Use Rose or Stem Strippers

Hi! I’m Sandy with Afloral and today, we’re going to talk about strippers. Are you laughing because I certainly was? We’re talking about rose strippers. We have several here at Afloral. We have two metal ones. This is kind of a hand held sideways. This is a hang on straight and then one of my favorite is the plastic one. So if you need to get rid of rose thorns so you’re not having them in your fingers, then you need some of these rose strippers. I have some peach roses here and you take the stripper and carefully put it around the stem. You don’t want to squeeze too hard because you don’t want to break the bark on the rose. So carefully put it around and just pull down until you have all of the thorns taken off.

In this way, you can ran your hand down and not worry about getting a thorn in your finger and getting infected. So that was the sideways. I’d like this one because you don’t get anything on your hands or in your knuckles. We have the straight one. This works very well, same kind of a thing. You just have to hold it a little bit at an angle, put it around the stem, and pull it down until all those thorns are gone. Now, there might be a little piece of thorn still left but that’s okay. The sharp ends are gone and this makes it nice both for your costumer and yourself.

Now the plastic one is kind of fun because you fold it in half and it will take the leaves and the thorns off. So just wrap it around the stem and pull and sometimes you’d get some pieces caught in here but you run it onto the water quick and it’s clean in a flash, same thing. Nice and smooth, and easy to use. So if you want to save your fingers, make sure you get one of our strippers.
