Ruler Guides are none printing lines in Adobe InDesign that you can do to help you position and layout the objects within your InDesign document. To get a ruler guide, simply go up to either your horizontal or your vertical toolbar and click within the tool bar, and you’re going to get a double headed arrow, meaning that you’ve grab hold of a guide.
So go ahead and drag down and you will see this blue line up here. Go ahead and position it where you would like it and then simply release your mouse and it will place that guide. You can do the same thing with the vertical tool bar, release it and it will go ahead and it will stay.
Now if you’d like to move a guide that you’ve already had placed to make sure that you have the selection tool on the tool box selected, and then go ahead and grab a hold of a line and then go ahead and move it to its new location and then release it. Couple of other options, if you go up to your view menu and then go to grids and guides, you can hide the guides if you’d like which means they're still there, they're just hiding from view and then go up and show them again. You can also lock the guides, meaning that they are locked in-place instead and tell you unlock them and that can be handy for it, so you don’t accidentally move those guides. And then we’ll go ahead and we will unlock the guides.
Now if you’d like to remove the guides, go ahead and make sure you have you’re selection tool, grab a hold of the line and then simply dragged it all the way up to the rule, and release it, and it will go ahead and it will delete those ruler guides.
