Hi, this is Mark from markcomputertips.com in this video I'm going to be talking about how spyware works now generally spyware is software that attaches itself to another application and will install silently when you install that application. Now generally you won’t be aware that you're installing spyware that’s generally the idea of it.
But sometimes it can be in a form of—it will give a popup message saying, do you want to install this other software which is suppose to be really good and does all this stuff. But when that installs generally those programs will suck the life out of your computer’s processing power. They're designed to run in the background and track your internet habits, now you're with unwanted—and generate Traffic for the host owners.
Some people will mistake spyware for a computer virus but a virus is a piece of code designed to replicate itself and spread from one computer to the next. Spyware generally is just to target you with ads.
The damage it does is more of a byproduct of its mind mission which is deserve you targeted advertisement or make your browser display certain sites or search results. Now you can—if you think you have spyware, a quick little thing to do is press Control Alt Delete and that will bring out the Windows Task Manager. Now go to the performance tab and you will notice that your computer CPU usage is quite high. If these all up here then you’ve got something running in the background, you can also go over to processes and that will show you which process are running now and how much memory they're using.
So if something is a very much higher than the rest of them and you don’t recognize what that application is, then that could be spyware.
