Here is a quick tip for checking you traffic from your computer using Windows Vista Gadgets.
First of all, just go into the side bar menu and click on the little plus button which is going to bring up your gadget options. I’m going to go down. Click on get more gadgets. And basically, what that’s going to do is it’s going to bring up my windows browser here. And I’ve got a search option here. I’m going to type in traffic. From there, I get the option to download the traffic by live search. So, I just click on that and click yes to install.
Next, we basically have the ability to choose the city that we’re in. For this purpose, I’m going to select Toronto. This is going to bring up a map that I can zoom in and out of to see the traffic reports within that, either greater Toronto area or right downtown. As you can see here, there’s a variety of different exclamation marks there. Some are in red and some are in yellow. And basically show me where all the incident area’s are where I want to avoid when I’m planning my next trip. So, I just scroll over those, it tells me when the incident occurred and potentially if it’s been cleared up yet.
So there you go, one quick tip for you. Next time you’re out planning your next business meeting or you’ve got to get somewhere in a hurry, check out the Windows Vista Gadgets traffic option there and you’ll be much better prepared before you hit the road.
