Hey everybody. Jason here again and I wanted to show you another feature in Windows 7 that I have actually only played for, for maybe about half an hour or 45 minutes. And I have to tell you, it’s awesome. It is the Windows 7 Speech Recognition which was built in the Windows 7 obviously and I did not even really train my voice and it really recognizes my commands.
So you can go to Speech Recognition. You can go to the Tutorial and then you can actually watch the Tutorial on it and actually train your voice and go over some commands so you know what commands do what. So go into the Control Panel. You click Speech Recognition Options. You start by going Start Speech Recognition. You set up your microphone, right in there and then it will tell you everything you need to do.
So I am going t o start this and I am just going tell it some basic commands here while I am recording. So you can actually see how it works. So I’m going to click Start Tutorial. I mean using microphone here, handy, rock band microphone and it works. Alright so we’ll start Recognition.
Alright, so it’s on. Open WordPad. Close WordPad. Open Notepad. Hello. I am using Speech Recognition. Close that, don’t save, switch to McIntec, maximize, hello, enter, restore, show desktop, switch to sound broadcaster, switch to McIntec, switch to Flash Media Encoder, minimize, open games, open chest.
So as you can see, that are just some of the things you can sue with the microphone and I’m just going to stop here. It’s pretty great and I did not really train my voice. I just went through the tutorial which gets you to talk and say some basic commands and stuff and you should check it out really. If you have not done so, download the Beta at this point, it’s Build 7000. Totally check it out because it’s so pretty. The Speech Recognition is awesome and you could surf the internet and everything through speech and it actually recognizes pretty well so I just wanted to show you guys that.
Close that, switch to Flash Media Encoder. So yeah, that is basically some of the things you can do with the Speech Recognition and solitaire. It’s awesome. It is cool. What you can do and I was not using the mouse, obviously not doing anything at all seriously. I was using the microphone, speaking to it and it’s awesome. I am blown away at what you can do with Speech Recognition and what Windows 7 has to offer. I am telling you, I am absolutely telling you. Give it a try. You might actually like it. It’s cool.
So that was just a short thing I want to show about Speech Recognition. It’s in the Control Panel, just click Speech Recognition and go through there. The tutorial is actually really nice. It pops up and it actually I’ll show you right now.
Take Speech Tutorial and this is what you get. It will go through examples and stuff, things you can do, tells you about commanding to do and say as well as you can also train your voice. I haven’t trained my voice yet seriously. I just went through the tutorial and spoken at tutorial and yeah, it’s pretty. It’s recognizing it really well.
So yeah, give Windows 7 a try. Give the Beta a try, just you know, play with it, see what you like and let’s try to have a show with this. Switch to Flash Media Encoder. We’ll chat at you later!
