Hey, guys how’s it going? Today, I was digging through some of my stuff and I found my home security camera. So this is going to be a video on home security and home surveillance and basically what this will do for you is forewarn you of an intruder on your property or trying to break into your house and it will allow you to protect yourself and your family and do what's necessary to do so.
Also in this video it will be a demo of the camera and what it looks like on your TV. You can use this while you're at work with like a VCR or a DVD recorder to record maybe the most likely areas. Someone might break into your house and maybe you get their face on camera and show it to the police and maybe somebody would recognized them and then you would know who broke into your house and possibly get all your stuff back so, I consider this a good investment.
This camera has infrared night vision which I’ll be showing you in the demo and it works excellent. This is an Astak. Actually this is better Astak brand and yeah, I've never heard of it before either. So it’s not the greatest quality. I mean I spent 100 bucks on it. It’s worth for me fine. I mean it’s decent quality. I'm sure there are a lot better more expensive ones out there but for what I need this is fine.
Also you can plug the camera in. There are four channels. You can either plug the camera in or charge it and put it somewhere where there’s not a plug. And I believe it has like a 500 foot range to it. Also you can, there are little screw holes in the bottom of the mount of the camera that you can screw into a wall somewhere and also it’s adjustable. You can change direction by loosening this thing right here. So if you do mount into a wall you can swivel it around any direction pretty much 360 degrees. So that’s a pretty cool feature.
And all these lights on the front are the infrared lights. So this is the receiver that comes with it and by the way, I bought this like over two years ago. So prices might be different now, I'm not sure. Chances are you might not even be able to find this same one if you're interested in it but there is a lot of similar thing. Just, it’s the same thing. There’s hundreds of them probably, different ones and, so this is the antenna. This is metal. It feels like aluminum or something. It’s 2.4 gigahertz, it has four channels on it that you can press this button to select and that’s basically it on the receiver. These are the plugs. It has one audio plug so it does have sound and one video plug.
So you just plug it into your TV and it works pretty good. One thing I should mention though is that when you put it somewhere like and there is walls between the camera and the receiver you do have to do a little tinkering with the antennas to get a clearer picture. Also the lens you can screw in and out to focus it so you had it mounted up in it and you went and looked at the video after and it wasn’t focused you can screw this back and forth to focus it.
All right, that’s the receiver like it’s on channel two. So you switch it by clicking this button and to turn the camera on you got to switch it right here. I just use a knife. I have really long finger nails it would be better for a girl obviously and so you can put it on the right channel and the lights on. And as you can see it’s not plugged in, so this has the internal battery in it that is chargeable. So that’s pretty cool, all right, so here’s is the outdoor and night time demo of this camera and this is what you don’t want to see but if you did see this you could prepare for it and protect your family and yourself.
So that was the demo and that was in pitch black conditions. So I mean there might be a little light coming from the window. Well, other than that it was completely dark out, except for the moon and the window. So that’s how good the infrared on this camera works. It’s pretty good and yeah, by the way it was me. So this video is just basically to help you guys think about home defense a little bit and surveillance because it’s important and so this is one of your options for home surveillances. One of this little camera systems, again this one was about a 100 bucks and as always thank you guy for watching and I’ll take to you later, bye.
