Hi! How you are doing? I am Tim Carter from AskTheBuilder.com and look what Mother Nature gave us, a lot of beauty but also a lot of work. I want to talk to you today a little bit about snowblowers and boy, are they fantastic machines. This is really, really a very cool snowblower.
I want to tell you a little bit about it first before we get going and one of the things though and I will be right back, because I just left it inside the garage so don't go away, are these fant, see that's why we need them. These are really cool devices. These are ice cleats. So before you start to use one of these snowblowers, you actually have to take these really cool devices and you put them on the bottom of your boots or your shoes so that you don't slip while you are actually using the snowblower because believe me it's really, really slippery.
But I want to tell you a little bit about this snowblower first. This is an amazing machine. Here's what a snowblower is. It's basically, just like a lawnmower way. You know how a lawnmower cuts grass and it shoots the grass out away from the lawnmower, that's how really a snowblower does but it has kind of a different blade. It's got these augers that are out in front of the shoot and they spin and they basically kind of funnel and shoot through the snow and bring it back to a high speed impeller that actually shoots the snow up through the shoot and puts it some direction that you control. And that's what really cool.
The shoot on the snowblower, it's controlled where you can make it go to a 180 degrees so that the snow will either shoot left in front of you but to the right of the direction you're travelling and there is another control that shoots, that controls how high the snow comes out of the shoot very, very cool. Very easy to control this as well.
Another thing you need to understand about this snowblowers. They are lot like a car. In another words, they have a transmission that allows you to go forward with different speeds and of course, in reverse when you need that. You use the lower speeds when the snow is deeper, so that you don't choke the front of the snowblower with snow and as you have less and less snow, you sometimes can go faster.
On the side of the snowblower upfront, you've got this little adjustment pads that allow you to adjust the depth of the cut and that's very important that when you are working on a nice smooth pavement like concrete or blacktop, the snowblower can actually pick up the snow so that the pavement is almost perfectly clean.
One of the things you absolutely need to do before you start the snowblower is absolutely take the time to open the owner's manual, read the owner's manual and be very aware of all the safety recommendations. These machines can be dangerous, you can get hurt, it's like any piece of power equipment. You have to respect it but as long as you use it in accordance with the way, if suppose we used, you are going to be just fine.
Wow! Tell me that isn't it an awesome machine that's going to save your back. I am telling you right now that snowblowers like this one, they can really make actually what's considered a job or work, a lot of fun. I am telling you right now and also remember you can use these things day or night. This particular machine and many of the other snowblowers, it comes with a nice headlight that allows you to illuminate and see exactly where you are going at night.
And a couple of final tips. Make sure before the snow season hits at your home that you go ahead and clean and sweep your driveway, get rid of all the branches, the rocks and all kinds of other things that can actually jam up the augers or jam the impeller, you don't want that to happen. You do that and you are going to have a smooth clean driveway in no time flat. I am Tim Carter for AskTheBuilder.com.
