How to Use a UMD Dumper for the PSP Slim
Hey, guys its Tech Stuff. And this video tutorial I'm going to show you, how to use UMD Dumper that works on a PSP Slim. In my case I have a God of war PSP which is a 2000 version. Now a UMD Dumper let’s you get an ISO of any game that you have on your memory card pretty much and you’ll be able run it without a UMD mount. This only works if you have custom firmware of course. I have 5.00 m33 on my God of war PSP. And I will show you that when I demonstrate me dumping a UMD.
So now, you need this file that I have on my hard drive already. I will upload this to my SkyDrive so you do not have to go and looking for it. Now, this is the file, it will come in a dot zip folder. And just right click on it and you can either use 7-Zip or you can use windows default extract extractor just hit Okay and it will extract. As you can see we have this other folder. Now, into that folder and there will be another folder of course in here and now this folder will include all the files or yeah, files pretty much that you need.
And now plugged up your PSP to your computer, I'm just going hit USB mode. Now, copy this that might not might not pop up to you right. Just connect it to your computer and copy this file. Open the folder you get Files and then go to PSP and Game and Paste it here. And this will not take very long it’s only six megabytes approximately. And it’ll tell you what you need to do on the computer and pretty simple. And now, I'm going to switch, so you'll see what I'm going to do in my PSP.
And what you pretty much going to do is disconnect your PSP out of USB of course and then turn off this battery. So ones you got it turned off just to the right and access all your files. And now, of course go to Game and go to your—everything and I will show you that I have 5.00, we need to find this first. Go to PSP Settings and just some information. As you can see I have 5.00 m33. And so yeah, let’s go to games and went to Memory Stick. And there goes your UMD Dumper. Now, in this particular test I'm going to be using God of War as an example because you know it kind of work to PSP. Click here, I have God of War Chains of Olympus that came with my PSP.
So I'm just going to put that in there. Okay, so I'm going to let it focus now. And well, Memory Stick and just launch it. And we should be watching and there it goes. There it goes God of War’s Chains of Olympus. And it is 1.5 Gig Type thing. Whereas you can see I only have enough room. So I’m just going to go, I'm just want to delete the modem game that I have there. So I’ll be able to show you. Midnight Club here and be sure you have enough space.
Sorry about that, its just kind of pre-launch it’s been three minutes. And then as you can see you have the information here. And it will show you where it would be saved and there you go. So now, I have 1900 megabytes left and I only need 1,000 megabyte. So can choose Read Me and you can reset the—or the volume. You can rename it to where you want it to save. You can read to Read Me. And or you can just press X to start before were going to choose the speed, we got high speed, normal speed. You got the Mini Game and now here is start dumping.
So just hit X and then it should tell you down here the completion of it and now we’ll get back to you guys. Now, this is pretty fast, there’s something like this and just keep in mind that this is the God of War PSP.
So just you know its just time I got that. So I just sort of—we’re just going to leave it there and just leave it there. And it won’t even take 30 minutes probably less. So I’ll get back to you guys.
I will, as you can see is pretty much almost done and it has you know it done for you, you're about 15 to 20 minutes. I started about 6:45 and I'm not sure what time it is now.
As you can see dumping has finished successfully. I'm just going to go back. And it’s telling me Wait. And here we have it Memory Stick. And we have Chains of Olympus right there. And now if you want it to run without UMD just go to press Select and just UMB ISO MODE choose m33 Driver and then hit Exit. Now, all I'm going to do to show you is I'm going to take out the UMD. There it goes. And I'm going to launch God of War. So it’s basically starting up right now. And we’ll yeah, you can check on your PSP. Go to your computer you will have the ISO as you can see.
God of War of war is running. And well guess what it doesn’t any UMD. You can pretty much have it guys. And you would probably notice already what, yeah. Stay guys watching and see you in the next video.
