Hey, I’m Eric Stromer. Today I’m going to show you how to use an automatic screw gun. Now, the traditional method of screwing in drywall screws relies on a handheld screwdriver and a box full of drywall screws.
In our case today, I’m going to show you how this bad boy operates. It’s a really effective tool rapidly giving you the ability to screw thousands of screws in probably a quarter of the time it would take with the traditional method.
It comes in a very, very simple system with these pre-assigned screws that are affixed to a plastic case which then slides up right into the gun just like this and then feeds right into the front of the gun, and you can adjust the gun to actually use 1 inch, 1 ¼ inch or 1 ½ inch drywall screw, so it’s really effective, multi-purpose.
So once the screws are fed in to the front of the gun, it’s very simple to operate. Let me show you how it works. You find your position on the wall. You obviously depress the trigger and it puts the screw in just like that. And you can do multiple screws as you’re going. I mean just half the time, a whole lot of screws can be installed.
Now, the good thing about this too is it has a depth gauge on it. You can burry the head of the screw to the exact depth that you need so that it breaks the paper but doesn’t go too far so that you blow through the drywall, and you can get the exact same depth every single time you screw the drywall, so it’s a great option in terms of that.
It also has a forward and reverse, and then the ability to interchange a Phillips head and a traditional slide head screwdriver. In terms of the initial outlay or investment, it’s well worth it in terms of the amount of time that you’ll save. Go out and find yourself one of these automatic screw guns. Get out there and install some dry wall. I’m Eric Stromer, good luck!
