This method is old fasion - a relic from the past. We not know that head halters can injure the dog, and there are MUCH better, happier, safer methods. A head halter (and choke chains) are for the LAZY dog owner. Progressive Reinforcement training does not use intimidation or correction or equipment that makes the dog uncomfortable in any way. The area under a dog eyes is very sensitive. And a dog with a head halter may have body language that another dog may not understand. A FRONT CLIPPING HARNESS is the only way to go - otherwise you risk injury to the dog. Ask yourself: if the dog is big enough to pull you on a walk, and if it thinks you're the source of pain and discomfort, why wouldn't you expect the dog to, at some point, lash out at YOU? If you have a reactive dog, please search youtube for Progressive Reinforcement. It WORKS! And you don't have to put your dog through pain and discomfort!
