How to Warm Dry Polymer Clay
Hi welcome to PolyPediaOnline I am Iris Mishly and I will be your instructor for this
tutorial.
Warming my thick clay is actually not one of my favorite chores so I am looking for
ideas to make it easy for me. I have some old packs of clay that even slicing it to thin
slices would not help because they are so old and crumbly. And what I wanted to show
you today are a simple trick you can use both with your aching parts of your body and
with your clays.
I have this grain pillow with seeds inside it. It is a kind of pillow you put in a microwave
to heat it when you have some parts of your body that are aching and I use it to heat and
soften the clay a bit. I have taken old pack of clay closed or open, some old canes and I
put them inside the pillow for a few minutes I fold it and I leave it this way. Be careful
not to put your clay inside for too long or it will be cured. I always watch and touch to
see if it is ready.
There are many ways to warm and soften your clay; it can be putting it in a warm place
such as your hand or in your body either sleeping on it when you are working at the
computer although I would not recommend doing that with canes or holding it close to
you. It will really do the job, another way if you put your clay in zip locked bag and you
dip it in warm water again not for too long, check it and see if it is okay. I recommend
getting your own grain pillow for your clay and a different one for yourself; do not mix
things for clay and to other purposes. Thank you for watching this is Iris Mishly for
