How to Wear Ghillie Suit

So you've your first Ghillie Suit and it feels awkward or you've had your Ghillie Suit for a while, but your results have not been what you wanted. The answer is the same in either case; a Ghillie Suit is a tool. The first time you pick up a hammer most likely, the only nails you hit were the ones that ends of your fingers. We have to learn how to use our tools.

Usually, we learn through our mistakes, but with a Ghillie Suit, we can learn before our mistakes are serious. Start up taking a good and long look at yourself in front of a mirror wearing your suit. Take a friend with you into the field and have that friend take pictures of you in various scenes.

While he is taking pictures, it would be helpful if he could make mental notes of what's good and what's bad about your efforts of concealment. Don't think you can throw on a Ghillie Suit and go piss off into the woods unseen.

If you have a knack for concealment without your Ghillie, then the Ghillie Suit will eventually improve those abilities. On the other hand, if you were not so hard at camouflage and concealment before, wearing a Ghillie Suit in itself is not going to change that. But with just a little practice and attention to the detail, you can deceive even the pros.

Review and revamp, examine yourself in your suit and ask yourself what needs to change. You will notice if you still have the basic shape of a human, you have to break up that shape. Sometimes it's as simple as little vegetation around the head and shoulder area, or even the position you present to observers.

With a little work and imagination, you can be as good as anyone out there. A man really skilled at camouflage and concealment can sneak up only wearing a tuxedo, but a Ghillie Suit makes the job much easier and faster.

Don't forget that a Ghillie Suit is only a tool and as such, it's only as good as the craftsman using it.
