How to Write a One-Page Business Plan

Hi everybody. Les Taylor, getting more with Les. Hey, I want to share with you today a terrific little performance of proven tool called The One Page Business Plan. Now The One Page Business Plan was written by a friend of mine named Jim Horan. And the reason I think this plan is so good is because it forces you to ask and answer 5 key questions.
First question is what am I trying to accomplish. That’s your vision. The second one is why do I want to do it. That’s your mission. The third thing is what am I going to measure. The fourth thing is how am I going to get where I want to get. Those are your strategies. And the last one is what’s the action items that I’m going to have to do. What’s actual work I’m going to have to do to get me from where I am now to where I want to be.
Now The One Page Business Plan is clearly not something you’re going to take to the bank to get funding with but I’ll tell you what it will do. It will help you stay focused and on track with what you want to do in terms of improving performance and productivity. Now it’s going to take some effort and it’s going to take a process. I think Jim has a great little process here but you’re the one that’s going to have to provide the effort. So I’ll make you a deal. You provide the effort. I’ll provide the process.
