Joey Weber: Hi, this is Joey with marketabilitytraininglibrary.com. This is another marketability training minute. Today we're going to talk about writing a skills resume. So what is a skills resume? It's really any resume that focuses primarily on your skills and secondarily on your job history. It uses your job history to support as evidence the skills that you want to put up.

Now the benefit is that it gives an employer a better picture of who you are, because it tells the employer what your primary skills are rather than giving a list of companies that you worked for. And it lets you target your strongest points when you talk through with an employer. So should you use one. Well, in my opinion all resume should mainly focus on what you can do, and the benefits you bring. Whatever format you choose to convey that information is your choice, but I found that skill focused resumes are generally the more effective ones. So that's the marketability training minute.
