How to assemble a Eastsheen 2x2 in detail
Part 1
Okay so today I though of making a video and as requested it is on how to assemble the Eastsheen 2x2. It is a video that a lot of people are wanting to know for a long time so the first thing you need to do is disassemble it, like I showed you in my videos. And I will put that in the description over there and then we will get started on assembling.
Okay so now you got your cube disassembled and you probably have a broken tab or so, or few, or whatever. This is the first one that I ever try taking off so I broke it off. I am crazy good at on and apparently crazy I did not hold but I got a solution to that yes. I am kind of cheating here since I do not want to go to the process again. I put the corresponding corner pieces with the colors I need to go to because that is the main thing on assembling a Eastsheen.
And first of, it should have your—with my disassembling video, you should have a mark blue as in you know in place of the white, and yellow or I should say better like that yellow in place of yellow. So that we kind of have it marked and it makes the process a lot easier.
So first of, I wish to find out which this piece belongs to this piece. If you notice, you have these little two sliders here. Right here you can see against the white. And you got these two spots right here. This one and this one with the sliders go into. We have to figure out the way they match. So you can see this it matches perfect with white or blue I should say and then white. It matches down. Always try to find this corner piece first, it might be different, who knows if your color scheme has been changed, but mine is that and you just click that one off. That is the start of the assembling. That is going to be your guide and it really, really does help to mark them okay.
Anyway, next I wanted to prove how these are like 3x3’s. Check this out because someone did not believe me or something, I cannot remember that these are not like 3x3’s. First of, you have a triangular piece right? Or that kind of sticks out like this right here, a triangular piece that sticks out. It looks very similar right, just that this is more of a cover, or if you want it to look at this way.
[Demo]
That is a 3x3 corner piece Eastsheen stuff. Now if you look, right this here, and then you take a look at this here. What does that look? Exactly like—I think it looks exactly like an edge piece; it is just this whole spot shave it off and that would be the 3x3 edge pieces Eastsheen style.
Now if you take a look at this, you got the top right in front right? You got your top corner. You got your right corner and your front corner. And that they look exactly similar. I do believe this would be a 3x3 color Eastsheen style. So like I said in my comments, Eastsheen 2x2 is exactly like a 3x3 except you do not have to worry about three of these centers. So you can tell mine is a DIY has—let me show you on macro. It has springs just like Eastsheen DIY that I made.
Anyway back to the guide. First step you are going to need to do is, yes I have all this jumbly mess, you are going to need to get the edge piece, one edge piece and it looks like that. They look like I showed you in the beginning. You are going to put that on the bottom here. You can grab another one and do the same to the other side so that you got your—you know what, let us going to do this the way that will make it easier.
Okay so now we got them, just put two in there, facing your white bottom okay, because we are going to do this to where we can make it easier to find out how to do it. Next, you are going to want to drop in a corner piece but this is where it becomes hard. Now you are going to define your green and white, and apparently pink on Eastsheen corner piece. And that one would be this one; green and white, and pink. Here is where it gets really tricky because of these pieces all right. I mark mine. I already know how to put it together so I know it goes like this. But what the thing is what you are trying to do is if you notice—okay, I am going to put a white on bottom. Notice this, white on the bottom okay and those are the sliders. White on the bottom and those are the sliders on the macro.
Okay so you got white on the bottom in the sliders. And you got white on the bottom and the sliders. As you notice on the left one, the sliders are going horizontal and on the right one, the sliders that I call these little pieces, are going vertical. So there is only one way that these pieces can slide on to the corner when you orient the corner pieces correctly. And that is where it gets really tricky on how to put together in Eastsheen 2x2, so I am going to explain that right now. Remember, that is one concept that I want you guys learn while you are watching these two different pieces and use commonsense to figure out how the corner pieces are going to be oriented to slide this on, like mine slide on one way white on bottom, you will notice that it is all different. They are never facing the right the same way.
Anyway, so I know that this piece in order to match up with green would have to slide on horizontally in this way. So if I match this up and found out that it goes in this way, sideways, you have to put the corner piece in this way. Drop the corner piece in there and now I know that it is now—oops sorry I got all out of the camera. I need to go macro for this. Anyway see, so now I know that this could only go on horizontally this way to match with the green. So what I have to do is I have to orient this corner piece where the sliders are also horizontal.
[Demo]
Eastsheen piece keeps falling. Anyway, so you put a corner piece on there to where you can actually slide this on the correct way horizontally and horizontally you have to orient the corner piece yourself to do that. I have marked mine and now, you go ahead and just slide it on until you hear that infamous click.
[Demo]
Now you are on the next corner. Remember, we are not only looking for the white on bottom. So we are looking for blue, pink, and white okay. So that is good at white on one piece and set that aside. All right, here we go! I know this video might seem confusing but this is the way to do it and this may not be the fastest and most efficient way to put them together in Eastsheem, but it is the easiest way to find out where the pieces and corner pieces will go. Always hold the piece that is attached to the core because if you hold this, it is going to be really frenzying you are just going to lose your pieces.
Anyway, so now I know white on the bottom, it needs to go here but which way is this piece going to slide on? Just slide from the bottom. So it can slide on this way or you are going to slide on horizontally so you look. Okay so we got lucky this is another horizontal slide as long as you can see it is horizontal and the tab is facing that way. Meaning, we are going to put it in this way.
[Demo]
My -- is dying on my laptop cooler because there is a bunch of hair in it. Anyway horizontally, so we know that if we drop this piece in to where these sliders are facing horizontal with these two points facing towards the cube, you can now slide this piece on and you have your next part of the Eastsheen completed. So, let us put a hook on there and slide it on horizontally. There is the infamous click.
And now we are on the last piece.
