A person who has very high breath-holding time, let's say two, three minutes, this person can digest the same meal in about one hour only, why? Because high breath-holding time means high CO2 concentration, better blood supply, and better oxygenation of digestive hormones can do their job faster.
Old Hatha yoga books wrote that if a Hatha yoga master get even high breath-holding time, let's say five, six, seven minutes, these people can go along with no food, no water, no sleep for about three, four days. This is a human being for three, four days with no water, no food, no sleep, and these people would still be having five minute breath-holding time with very light eating. So that means they would still be energetic, they would be just hungry, sleepy, thirst, but they would be able to survive, to fight for their life. And they believe that was the design how nature create the human beings.
