Hello everybody welcome to Virtual tweak. Today I will show you how to compress a video file. You will need a software called Virtual Dub. I am going to use Virtual Dub to compress a video file. So I am going to launch virtual dub right now. As you can see, this is the software I am going to use. Once you install the software, click on file, open a video file, click on open a video file. I am going to choose a video file that I want to compress. So I want to compress this video file. I am going to open the video file. As you can see this is the file I want to compress. Then click on video, click on compression, choose a video codec named X vid. If you don’t have this codec please download it from the web, you can find it at Google. Search in Google you can find it. Once you click on the X Vid, click on configure. On the first drop down menu, select es@L5 and the second drop down menu, select single pass and the target button, click on that once and it will show you how much kilobytes you want to use. Right now, it is 250, I am going to use 300. It will be better for web viewing or online video playing and then click on okay. Now that we set up the video compression, we have to set up the audio compression also. Click on audio, click on full processing mode and then click on audio again, click on compression. Select MPEG layer three, select 20 Kilobytes stereo sound, click Okay. Now, we have to save the file, click on file, save as AVI, click on save as AVI. It will show you a window, select desktop and rename the file. And save the file. It will take some tome to compress the file. Once it is finished, you can see the file on your desktop. It will be compressed so you can share your video file with us. Thanks for watching, I will post more videos next week when I have free time. Take care.
