How to create smoky eyes

It is darkest along your lash line and then it blows out and fades into your natural skin but I would like to do the top of the eyes first because it gives you a pretty good idea on how far you want to take the eye.

First thing we are going to do is we are going to put a little bit foundation or concealer on your eyes so your shadow has something to grab on to. Now the science behind the smoky eye is that you always start with your medium tone first. In this case it is going to be the smoky gray; you are going to slip it across your lid with a soft brush. So I am using a Mac 2-24 brush and this is kind of an industry standard because it is really soft and gentle and that is going to let you use a darker color and apply it softly and that the tools that you choose really make or break your make-up.

Now with your darker shade, you are going to use a smaller brush using a dark map violet shadow. You want to press a little bit of that darker color into the outer corner and in the inner corner of the eyelid on both eyes.

Now I am going to add in some of the highlights and we are going to see how much that will blend everything out. The color I am using is isthmus which is a really super shiny pale pink using again a soft brush and I am just pressing this bright color in and literally in a line through the center of the eye. I am using quite a lot of it because metallic is back and it is in full effect and now that it is pressed in I am just going to slightly soft rubbing motion and buff the lighter colors into the darker colors.

Now we are going to do a little bit of the same thing of the top on the bottom of your eye. Now you are getting very dramatic. You can get anything you need for this look on any Mac store or online
