[Music Playing]
I am using Adobe Premiere Elements 3. This is a very simple tutorial on how to achieve a soft focus effect without the need to go out and buy those expensive plug-in filters.
All I have got is a single piece of footage with the sound. I have actually turned the sound down. What I have done is above that, on video track 2, I duplicated the footage.
So, we have two identical pieces of footage designed to play in-sync that they are synchronized. They play at exactly the same time.
Now, it is really simple. You select “clip 1” and you add Gaussian blur. You increase the Gaussian blur so that in this particular case, you can just about count their figures. You do not want it to lose too much detail and you do not want too little. You just sort of get it a reasonably good blur on that.
And then, you simply go to “video track 2” and you adjust the opacity. A 100% is totally clear and as you gradually bring it down, that is where your soft effect comes in. So, I am going to take that down to about 50% and give it a moment to render.
We now have a soft-focus effect. You can also go in and adjust your brightness and contrast to alter exactly how you want it, and that is how you apply a soft effect to Adobe Premiere Elements.
