Now we are going to do a series of alternative pitches. They are a lot of fun and they are designed to catch the batter off guard. I will tell you what's legal and what's not. The first is the submarine, and that's just a fancy name for Sling Shot. You have been windmilling all the game and all of a sudden, you do this. And the hitter is still waiting for you to windmill.
We will look at it again. It will look like my normal wind though and instead I sling shot it, we can also throw the Change-up off this pitch. She is going to submarine back hand change-up. Once they have seen you, submarine and come fast, they think you are just coming fast with it, and instead the Change-up comes out.
So how do we throw this? Instead of waiting for your arm to go forward to jump, you jump when your arm drops back. So, it's jump when my arm drops back and now it looks like the rest of my pitch, you just have to encourage a long jump and let the kids fly. They also must keep the arm on line, you are going to see some real low arm contortions, arm straight back, arm straight forward, the ball will be off-speed speed. So about 5 miles/hour slower than your fast ball, but that's it. That was another submarine. Here you go, so have full on the hitters.
