Female: Another way of using the foam roller is for balance and stability training so today we are going to do two examples of exercise that you can do on the foam roller for balance and stability.
The first one that we are going to do is a pushup. It is great because it is working on the stability of your shoulder girdle and it allows you to go through full range motion all the way to the floor and all the way up.
Start with the foam rollers about shoulder width apart. Place your hands in the middle of the foam roller and go all the way down and all the way up. If you have any shoulder injuries, or shoulder problems, do not go through the full range motion. Just bring your chest down to the foam roller and back up.
The second one that we are going to do is great for spinal alignment and balance and stability and the core muscles. You want to lay on the foam roller with the natural spine alignment, you bring the opposite arm and the opposite leg towards each other and the back down. You are going to keep your abs tight and bring your hand to your leg and back down making sure that you exhale on the exertion coming up and inhaling on the way down.
