How to do Island to Island

This next exercise is a skill builder, designed to help children develop throwing control. We call it Island to Island. Since the children each stand inside one hoop that represents an island. The goal for the children is to play catch and not get wet. In other words, that they can't step off their island. For a group of children, you can create a little friendly challenge or a competition to see which pair can throw the ball back and forth the most in 30 seconds. For a non-elimination team competition, have all the children play at the same time and keep track of all catches by their teammates until their team reaches 100 points. This rule forces a lot of communication and also builds good math skills as well.
