Rope Skipping

Let's begin this section with a series of rope skipping drills. Since jumping rope is still considered by most to be one of the best exercises for tennis players to develop agility, balance, timing, coordination, quick reactions and more. During each of these exercises, try to see how many jumps an athlete can perform in 30 seconds and then repeat them again after a 30 second rest or you can develop different footwork patterns and perform 6-10 repetitions of each, counting a completion of all the patterns as one set.

Here are 12 different footwork patterns to try out in practice. Double Foot Hop, Right Foot Hop, Left Foot Hop, Jogging, Heel Kicks, High Knees, Skipping, Forward and Side Hops, Jumping Jacks, Lunges, Torso Rotations, and Crosses.
