How to do Speed Transition Practice

If you are serious about getting faster in transitions, consider doing specific speed transition practices. Do several short repeats of running to your bike barefoot putting on your helmet and running with the bike pushing from the saddle for 50-100 yards before doing a running mount and practicing getting your feet into the shoes. Ride about one or two miles fast and get your feet out of the shoes riding with them on top for a short distance before dismounting into running back to your gear and switching to running shoes for a short 400-800 meter run. Repeat the routine several times and time each round trying to get faster, not by riding or running faster, but by being smoother with your mounts, dismounts, and overall transitions.
