How to do Tic Tacs in Skateboarding

Hi! This is Keir with Catalyst Skateboards. I’m showing you the fundamentals of skateboarding today. The first trick we’re going to get into is tic tacing.

Tic tacing is probably the oldest trick in skating. It’s simply just using your momentum to sway back and forth without stepping off the board as I demonstrate to you now.

Basically it’s just like pushing and put your front foot forward, step on the board and start chopping back and forth to give your self speed.

Okay, when you tic tac, you basically just use your front foot to pivot and your back foot to turn. Step on the board and just try to swivel your hips and push forward. Tic tacing is basically an easy way to learn how to get speed to get into skating.

That’s the basic trick in skating. Practice it up hill and that will give you a good way to get your balance and hopefully learn some more tricks.
