The next cutting drill we are going to use for receivers is basically called the 45 degree cut. We are going to ask the receiver to run past the line on the field two yards, plant his inside foot and cut back across the line at a 45 degree angle working back towards the line of the scrimmage or towards the quarterback.
The first ball, the first one, we will not throw a ball and then the next one, we will throw a ball. This is a 45 degree cut. We need the receiver to stay low on his break, shoulders down, shoulders over his hips and really stick his foot in the ground and see if we can work cleanly in and out of this break.
Set, go. Good job. Good job in that break with your arms. Receiver, good stance, good start. Really stick that foot into the ground and work in and out of that break. Set, go. Okay.
