How to do a Fade/Bucket Throw

Let us take a look at another way that the quarterback may have to throw the football. We are going to take a look at a fade ball, some people practice this throw where they try to throw the ball into the corner of the end zone into a bucket. A lot of goal line passes are done. This is basically called a fade or a bucket throw.

Jared’s normal throwing motion, Jared, let us just throw a normal throw. His shoulders are going to be square towards the target and he is going to release past the target with level shoulders. In order to throw this ball in slow motion as Jared turns, he is going to have to drop his back shoulder and change the angle of the release point so it goes up a little higher. Let us take a look at Jared changing his release point and throwing a fade ball into a bucket.

Great job, let us do it one more time. You see Jared throwing there, he turns his back shoulder. His back shoulder will go down and he will throw the ball up in the air so that it goes down and basically tries to throw it in the bucket in the corner of the end zone. Let us take a look at that. Perfect. That is a fade ball of our quarterback.
