How to do a Half Court Doubles Tennis Drill

The next logical drill that would help doubles play is to have all four players play doubles inside the singles court. With the narrower playing area, it immediately changes focus from angle play to more balls straight up the middle forcing faster reactions since the balls are in the air for less time and to take it a step further, how about a doubles match with four players competing in half a doubles court. In this variation, the receiving team changes position after each serve and the receiver's partner starts in the doubles alley. Again, as was the case with the first drill all players are forced to react faster than normal with greatly reduced angled shots and almost all balls hit straight ahead.
