Okay, next. We are going to work on protecting the stick. Mel, come on out here. Mel is a defender and we have Kim working on protecting the stick. Anytime we have a defender and we have a person with the ball, we try to teach our players to utilize their opposite hand or the strong hand and to protect the stick using both of their shoulders. On there as you can see that Kim is protecting the stick using her right shoulder, it is kind of an obstacle for the defender to get through on the left shoulder. If Melanie was to try to get the ball, at any point in time, Kim is just going to try to keep those two shoulders in between using kind of a pivot right there working and protecting the stick. If Mel wants to try to get the ball, it would be a foul or Melanie would be coming across the body of Kim. And if you girls kind of turn here so we can see it in the camera, try to get the ball, we will be coming across the body and it would a foul, that is why we always do that.
Kim you could put the stick in your right hand. Okay. It will be the same principle, she would put her left shoulder at here to protect. Okay! And as Melanie tries to get the ball, Kim would work and try to pivot and rotate.
Okay, we can do it live now. Mel, try to go and get the ball. Mel tries to go and get the ball, at this time Kim is just keeping one foot still. We called this the one versus one pivot. That was it.
