Hi, I am Dina Prioste, and welcome to Get Exercised, Happy Halloween Hour. Halloween is my favorite holiday, not just because of the candy, but it's a reason to dress up as any alter ego, any character, any person you have ever wanted to be, and to be your boldest, sexiest, hottest self, and we are always looking for reasons to do that.
Today I am going to show you a stretch that's going to feel great after eating all that candy, and it stretches what pirates care most about, your beauty. Oh, come on, you knew that was coming, yes, you did, you knew I was going to say that.
The other day I learned a new variation of a Supine Spinal Twist that really stretches the glutes and the hips in a much deeper way than a traditional Supine Spinal Twist. You are going to start with your knees resting against each other, feet as wide as the mat. Now, just let your knees drop over to the right side so they are going to end up being cockeyed, far apart. Now just cross the bottom foot on top of the top knee, and you are going to use the foot to press down. Now bring the left arm out and look over the left shoulder, and just keep pressing down in that way.
The other day I did something really stupid in class. I wasn't warmed up, and I demonstrated a Wheel Pose, and I pulled my oblique muscles on the right side. So I am not going to go full out on the other side, but we are going to go ahead and take it to the other side. Press your knees, drop the other way, take that top foot up, okay, that's as far as I am going to go. Normally you would take the right arm out and look over the right arm.
This pose has many benefits. It stretches your abdominal, stretches the sides of your body, stretches your hips, your glutes, and is a great way to unwind after you have been begging from door to door and eating a bunch of candy.
Next week when I am all better, I am going to show you an awesome side stretch with an okay name, stretch awesome name. Have a safe and happy Halloween. Thanks for watching, I am Tina Prioste, and you have just been exercised.
