How to do a Team Close-In Drill

The final elastic resistance exercise in this section uses the power band to set up two players together moving in towards the net. We have also added a physical guide for them to cross, namely a flat ropes on rope. Have one player holding two and one fielder across the net. On command, both players close into the net to volley crossing the ropes on rope to get into position. As the feeder feeds the ball they both split step. Since only one of them will volley, this exercise not only develops strengths and quick recovery where for the use of the elastic power bands, but also the team focus required for successful doubles.
