Hey guys this is Kier Johnson with Catalyst Skateboards. I’m showing you the fundamentals of skateboarding today.
The next trick I’m going to get into is the ollie which is the most important trick in skating. It’ s the bridge to any other trick that you might want to do. It is simply how to get air, so to speak in skating.
The first thing you want to do is probably learn it stationary. Your foot place is going to be similar to your basic stance that I showed you. You want to put your front foot in the middle of the board and your back foot on the square, the tail as you can see. Then, you want to basically bend down and then as you come up, you’re going to snap the back, hitting friction as you move your front foot up the board and basically level it out as I can show you here.
That’s one way to do an ollie.
Basically you just want to get your flexibility up and your strength if you have some pretty good ollies. So that’s how you do an ollie. It’s basically strength technique and practice and hopefully one day you can get to ollie as high Reese Forbes can.
The next thing I’m going to show you guys, how to do a front side and back side kick turn on a quarter pipe.
