How to do simple shuffle

I am going teach you guys—well, I have not made a video in a little while so I am going to teach you guys just a simple shuffle. (Demo) That is the shuffle that I am going to teach you guys. And also, I am going to teach you how to use it as a control.

Okay, so the first part of the shuffle or the first part of learning it is just to do the shuffle. The shuffle, you just put the card in here, about half a deck each. Grab it like this, your third and your middle finger on the bottom of each pack and your thumb on the top, and put your first finger behind and push down to buckle, like that. And then just let them go. And that is the second. That first part of the shuffle takes a little practice but the second part is going to take the most practice, so this is the first part (demo) like that.

The cards are—this is an actual shuffle. It is not fake, false shuffle. But the second part of the shuffle is to hold the cards again. And I will show it one more time because I did that one in a different style. You are going to get it like that and then you pick and pack it up with your fingers, put your thumbs on top. Make your fingers bend the card like that, and then just slowly release pressure from the buckle, so the buckle comes down and the cards should look pretty cool when they come down.

Now this is how I am going to do the—I am going to show you the control part. I mean, I am going to show you what it looks like, the six of hearts, and I am going to show it exposed so you keep track at the card.

The six of hearts, I am going to put that on top of the deck. I will cut it and I will shuffle the deck, and the six of hearts is back on top of the deck. So this is the control. I am going to show you what I did and I will leave the card face up so you can see what you are going to do. You are going to do this (demo), you are going to start doing that and you let this packet fall first and then let your left hand follow, whichever hand the card is in first to fall.

So it is not very difficult as long as you get the first part of the shuffle down. It is really easy. (Demo) and you see the card stays on top of the deck. And that is the shuffle that I am going to show you. Have fun with that. It looks pretty neat. You can use it in flourishes. It is pretty cool, and that control is almost undetectable.
