How to do the 360 Degree Slice

This serving exercise combines fun with learning a slice serve. Clinical studies show that aiming for the service box slows down the learning process due to the success and failure connection to getting the ball in.

Players learning to serve by aiming to into the box frequently tighten up, whereas just the opposite is required, namely a loose and fluid motion. Although, this exercise appears simple. It is a great drill which makes learning a slice serve fun.

Just have the player move in a full circle on the baseline, concentrating on slicing the ball without being concerned where it is landing. Allow the player to observe which stand results in the ball going into the service box and to use that starting position as a starting place for repetition drilling with a new slice serve. They will get the feel for it in no time.
