How to do the Famous 21 Card Magic Trick

Hi everyone. Today, I am going to teach you how to do the does 21 card trick. This is an easy trick to do in fact that self working. All you need is 21 cards.

Now, it is important that all of the cards are different, but, all you need is 21 cards and you can even borrow these from the spectator.

Now once you have your 21 cards, you take and shuffle them up, and you have the spectator to choose a card okay? So spectator takes a card and for the purpose of our video, it happens to be the King of Diamonds.

Now, you tell them to look at it. Tell them not to show you the magician and you have to put it back in anywhere they want okay?

So, they put it back in there. You close the pocket and let them shuffle it. They can shuffle this pocket of cards as long as they want, okay? It does not matter how long will you shuffle it or the order of the cards.

Now, you take the pack of cards back and you tell them where are going to find you card in a very unique manner. Here is what you do.

You start with the cards face up like this and you could deal 3 rows, and you keep dealing on each row until you run out of cards, okay?

Now, all you ask the spectator is which one of the rows has their selected card? In this case, it is the King of Diamonds. So, they will point at this row. Now, you close up all the rows like this and here is the secret move.

You always put the pile that has their card in it in between other two. So, I will put this one under it and I will put this one on top of it, okay? And, you repeat the cycle a second time, okay?

Same exact thing, 3 rows,

Until you run out of cards.

Now what you do is you ask them once again, which one of the 3 rows contains their card? And, they will point over here because the King of Diamonds is in this row, okay?

So, you close them up. And once again, you put the one that has their card in it in between the other two piles, okay? And you do this one last time, okay?

You need to deal through where was a total of three times and, this is the last time,

Just like so.

Now, you have been telling you which row their card is in, and the King of Diamonds is in this row. So, they will point towards the center row.

Now, the secret is their card is always in the middle of the row. In other words, it would be the fourth one down from the top.

Now, they will point towards the middle row. I would look for the card in the middle, and that would be their King of Diamonds, okay?

Now, you can reveal their many different ways. You can just reached in here and pull it out and say, “This is your card” and they will say “wow, how did you that?” You could close the pile up and you know, put all these cards back together once you know the location of their card and maybe reveal it in a different manner. That is up to you, but the bottom line is you will known exactly where their card is that you dealth these cards out three times, okay?

It will always be in the middle of that row.

I hope you enjoy the 21 card trick. As you can see, it is self working. I am not completely a 100% positive how it works. I believe that is a mathematical trick obviously. But it is very neat that they can choose any card. They are mixed up. The order of the cards always change, but if you just do the three pile thing, you always find it.
