Hey, it is Vince DelMonte here from VinceDelMonteFiness.com and YourSixPackQuest.com. I have got a video coaching lesson for you today. I want to talk about the term hardgainer. And hardgainer can be one of the most deadly words that you allow into your head and yes, there are guys out there who have a harder time building muscle but I think a lot of guys who see themselves as hardgainers actually see themselves as no gainers.
Most people know what a hardgainer is but it is a term that a lot of skinny guys used to describe themselves as building muscles slowly or somebody who has a hard time building muscle. And there is no such thing as a no gainer. Everybody can build muscle. I do not care how skinny you are, I do not care how skinny your parents were, I do not care about where you are from, who you are, everybody can build muscle. And the first thing is to realize that yes you might be a hardgainer but you are not in no gainer.
One of the main problems I have with this term is that a lot of guys, they kind of play it as an excuse. They use it as an excuse. They play their hardgainer card. If they are not building muscle they are making games, they want to go experiment with supplements or drugs, they say “Yes, but I am hardgainer” and they played that card. They deal themselves that card over and over and they make excuses for themselves. So you need to be very, very aware of what kind of thoughts you let into your head. If you are letting that thought influence who you see yourself as, then you are going to cause yourself some slow, slow progress. So I would prefer for you to see yourself as a consistent gainer.
I know I am a hardgainer but I do not look at myself as a hardgainer. I look at myself as a consistent gainer who is making slow gradual process with a long-term goal and I know eventually, I am going to get there. Maybe not as quickly as my body who is got better genetics than me but I am still a consistent gainer. So have that mindset instead of seeing yourself as a hardgainer.
