How to do the Hoop and Step

The first movement exercise of this section will be quite a challenge at first for even the best of young athletes. Roll a hoop and have the youngster run alongside the hoop and step through the moving hoop as often as possible as it is rolling. As the children get more proficient at this exercise, you can even have them step through the hoop in patterns. Such as every second or third step and in a group setting, keep track of how many steps the runners make through the moving hoop to come up with the team score after everyone has a chance. Now, that's a challenging movement skill.
