Let us talk about receiver play. The first thing you have got to talk about as we are doing receiver play is the stance and the start. Our receivers want to have one line on the right and one line on the left. I will be an imaginary quarterback in the middle. We would like for our receivers to have the insider foot back or the outside foot up on the line of scrimmage. That gives them a better ability to look in and see the ball because we are going to work out of the shotgun a lot and we are going to have the ball moving so they have to go on moving not on sound.
We like to have the weight equally distributed so that they can push off the back foot but not so much weight that they are leaning backwards or not too much weight on the front foot. We are going to be equal but the ability to push off their back foot. We are going to get into an athletic stance almost like the stand up sprinter stance.
Their head is going to have to be on a swivel where they look to the quarterback and to the defense to see what kind of covers they are going to get and then they are going to be looking in because they are going to be going on the ball. So the first one we are going to do is to see if we can get these guys to go in a good stance and then go in a good first three steps from the start. Set. They will react to the ball.
