How to do the Sidestep Catch

Now let's combine side-stepping and playing catch with two children and two ladders. This may look somewhat easy, but it really isn't. Only the best athletes will be able to perform this drill quickly, as it requires executing both, sound footwork and good hand-eye coordination simultaneously.

Once they have mastered this exercise with one ball, challenge them with two. The easiest way to control two balls will be with a bounce-pass and an air-pass. However, with a little bit of practice and by varying the arcs of the passes, they should also be able to pass two balls in the air at the same time as well.
