The next one we are going to do is basically a slide drill to the receiver’s right or the quarterback’s left incorporating a freeze catch at the end of the drill. This slide drill is used in zone routes. Anytime the defense is playing a zone, you have to sit in a hole and you want to slide and not run so this gets the receiver used to sliding in the holes and also gets the receiver used to catching the ball with his hands.
