How to do the Vanishing Deck - Gimmicked Magic Trick

Hi everyone, Dave J. Castle up here with LearnMagicTricks.org. Today I am going to show you a really cool card trick. Now I would like to carry my cards in a case just to keep them in good condition and if we take this out just like so, I will show you a card trick. Now, let us see which card is on top of the deck, it happens to be the ace of clubs. And what I am going to attempt to do is take the ace of clubs, place it back into the card box and make it disappear. That will be pretty cool, would it not? Let us give it a try.

Now in order to make the ace of club disappear we just have to take the card box and put it into the card holder, just like so. Now if I just snap my fingers, the ace of clubs will vanish. Wow! Not only did the ace of clubs vanished, the whole deck vanished.

Now I am going to teach you how to do the vanishing deck. Now this is a magic trick that you can buy at most magic shops, I think it is probably around $20.00 or $30.00 and it is really impressive. This is something you can do in the walk around setting, person to person or for small groups. You cannot have people behind you or necessarily next to you. They have to be in front of you.

Now, basically what you have is a gimmick card box. Okay? The front and the sides and the top are real but the back is not there. Okay? Now, they have designed it so when you open it up, you can put a few real cards in here, okay? So basically all you are doing is you are holding it so that they do not see the back, okay? And then you also have I believe this is plastic and what happens is when you insert this, just like so the card box fits into this container perfectly. So then when you turn it around, so as the inside of the card box is black, all people are going to see is the black inside of the case and it will appear or create the illusion that the entire box and cards disappeared.

Now this is a very powerful magic illusion, I recommend if you have liked it, you pick it up, once again it is called the “vanishing deck,” and I think you will have a lot of fun performing it. Thank you very much.
