Take a look at one of my favorite tricks here for enhancing sunsets or sunrises for that matter but for this example it would be a sunset. And just bringing out the colors to make them will look like a little more vivid.
So, it is actually pretty easy and what will do is start off with grabbing the eye dropper tool. And I sample one of the outer areas of the sunset colors. I do not go in towards the sunset yet.
So sample: this blue area on the outside,
And then, let us go ahead in hold down the Alt of PC the option key on the Mac and what you do is you sample a color more towards the sun here like this pink area inside.
Now, that we have bought those colored sampled. What I want to do is boost the color of each one of these colors so, watch here.
So I am going to click on the four ground swatch and I am going to do is drag whatever color I have here toward that dominant blue color on the top way corner here.
I am not all the way over just to make it a little more vivid and saturated with color,
And then do the same thing for that background color here, let us take the pinkish color and drag it all away over here toward red.
So, now I got both my colors here in needs color are going to help me get more color out of the sunset so, what we going to do now is using adjustment layer and it is called gradient maps so if I click on the little yin-yang sign down here, we go to gradient map and grab my gradient that I had here.
But if you click on this gradient picker, what I am really using is these four-ground to background gradient.
The very first one, it looks like it is black and white here but it is really he is using, your four ground of background colors.
So, if you want to use that gradient and click okay. It makes your photo look really, really bad at this point but when you fix it, change your blend mode from normal,
Go down to color, look at that, look at the colors that we now have in this photo.
Now it is too much, I will be the first one to admit that but what we do here is now just dial down your opacity to about 40 to 50 percent depending on how much of that color you want to bring back in here.
And now take a look that is before,
And that is after so, it is subtle but it gets some extra color into that photo that really helps make the sunset look a lot more vivid.
