I was curious if you would be able to help me with an additional problem to this situation. I have an ipod that my boyfriend put his families whole music library on, roughly 16,000 songs plus the couple thousands of songs that I have. He did it on my old mac in such a way that itunes could recognize it as music, transfer it onto the ipod but the music was stored on an external hard-drive that was just attached to the computer. Doing this, as you probably know, minimized the amount of storage taken up by the music on my computer. I was able to listen to the music on the ipod and if I wanted to listen to it on my computer I would need the external plugged in so that the computer could find the source. I have a new mac now that has my songs transferred over but none of his. I want to get new songs that I've purchased onto my ipod and not lose his music when I sync them. To make it trickier, with the new version of itunes, we cant seem to do the same process. any thoughts?

I would be great if this program worked. It say I need to be running 10.4 or later. Since I am running snow leopard I think I am good. Very disappointing :-(

so i download this ipoddisc, and i go to run the program, and it tells me i need osx 10.3 or later. then it tells me i currently have osx 10.5. ..... so because my osx is to new i cant use this program?

[Music playing] Welcome to another edition of Howdoimac.com. Today we are going to look at how to get music off your iPod since you get already new how to put music on your iPod. What if we got music on your iPod and your computer crashes and you need to get the music off because it is your only copy or you want to make a backup copy of what is on your iPod. It is actually quite some old. It is a great little program called iPod disk. You can get it from iPoddisk.ourbiti.com, put this to your notes, just go ahead and click download iPod disc 1.3 it will give you disc image, just click it and drag iPod disc in the applications all right, so just go to your applications folder and scroll down to iPod disc and basically what it is going to do is mount a drive on your hard drive that is gather your information from your iPod but it is look like a network server, so only music that is on this iPod is readier. You can just drag it off just like you normally would with any other hard drive. So if you want to do let us say casualties just drag it off and make a copy. It will take a couple of seconds. There is a window, drag it on to itunes and it should load up [music playing] and starting point, as simple as that. So all right, that is it. Enjoy!
