HomeServe 5 minute fix: Getting Wax Off Carpets

At the time lighting your lounge with the soft romantic candle glow is a great idea but in the cold light to the morning those inevitable drips of wax on your carpet do not look so good. Not top fear here is HomeServe 5 minute fix for getting wax of your carpets.

Step one, scrape off the excess. Plug your iron in some while within reach of the waxy patch. While you are waiting for it to warm, use a blunt knife just the back of your average cut, really one will do to scrape off as much excess waxes possible.

Step two, iron. Now lay some brown paper or a paper towel over the remaining wax and iron over the top. Keep it moving slowly just as you would when ironing clothes and make sure you do not burn anything. The heat will cause the wax to melt and absorb into the paper. Keep ironing over a clean piece of paper or cloth until all the wax has been absorb. Job done.
